Free Indeed

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free," and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."

Galatians 5:1

We as Americans realize especially on a day such as this, when we officially celebrate our independence, the value of freedom. Even the professional skeptic realizes that we live in the greatest country in the world. If you do not believe it try going to a foreign land. Your freedom will have a whole new taste to it when you return.

We as believers have even greater privileges concerning freedom. We can freely approach the Throne of Grace in times of need. We are free from the laws of sin and death. We experience liberty in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. We are independent from the world and the ways of the world.

Him Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Today as you enjoy the celebration of this Independence Day take a few moments to thank God for the freedom that you have in Christ Jesus. Examine your life to see if you truly are free or if you are wandering back down the path to bondage. It is never too late to turn around. Your Father is waiting with arms open wide…ready to celebrate your return.

Reclaim your liberty in Christ and stand fast! He has made us truly free!

 Thanks be unto God!!

Prayer:

Father God we want to take a moment on this day when we celebrate the freedom of this nation to be sure and thank You for the liberties and freedom that come as a result of salvation.

You have rescued us from the laws of sin and death. You plucked us off the road to destruction. You also give us freedom daily to experience Your grace.

Thank You for all of the awesome benefits that have come as a result of becoming a believer. We experience freedom on a much different level then those who fail to see You as Lord.

Please use us, Father to proclaim our freedom in You. Allow us to be examples to those who have not yet experienced spiritual freedom and through your witness let them be drawn to You.

In Jesus’ Name!

Amen!
